Play Day Results-Mar 14, 2024

Thanks to the 18 ladies that agreed to forge through the Wind Gusts of 30-40 mph. Actually once it warmed up, the wind just became an afterthought. Had an enjoyable day with my foursome and I think everyone else felt the same.

Oh by the way, make sure if you weren’t there to wish Jenny Dillon Happy 60th Birthday……..yes it even happens to the young’uns!!

Game was 2 person scramble, some of our group want to play this way all the time…….what……you don’t like your own ball???

Play Day Results-Feb 29, 2024

Hello Ladies,
Thank you to the 23 ladies who played in the overcast and wind today.  It actually was quite an exciting day!  Fran Grace had a Hole-in-One on Hole #5 (old Hole #14) — it wasn’t her first hole-in-one, but it was the first on a play day.  Thank you, Fran, for our celebratory cocktails!

Congratulations to all the winners!

We played Putts today, and the big winner was Cathy Fancey with 30 putts.  Cathy actually tied with Annette Krey who also had 30 putts, but Cathy won on the back nine:  16/14 for Cathy and 13/17 for Annette.  Cathy won $17.

We played “make your own foursome” and there were six teams.  For Leap Year, each team threw out their two best ball score for Hole #9.  The winning team of Kay Bargmann, Joanne Leete, and Terry Billingham had a two net best ball total of 122.  This was quite remarkable since they were only a threesome, and they rotated which lady played two balls on each hole.  The team won $39 or $13 each.

Coming in second, winning $28 or $7 each, with a score of 124 was the team of Cathy Houston, Jenny Dillon, Cindy Renshaw, and Cathy Fancey.  These game winnings will appear on your Club Credit Book activity for future spending.

We played “Greenies” on all Par 3’s.  All you had to do was land on the green on any Par 3.  There were no monetary awards but lots of accolades and cheers.  Here are our winners:

  • Hole #5: Fran Grace, Cathy Houston, Annette Krey.
  • Hole #8: Joanne Leete.
  • Hole #11: Terry Billingham, Lisa Ferrante, Frances Shipilov.
  • Hole #16 Terry Billingham, Conchita Christensen, Jenny Dillon, Lisa Ferrante, Mary Watkins, Donna Ybarra.

  • Kay Bargmann  –  Hole #14
  • Jenny Dillon    –   Hole #12
  • Sally Sturney   –   Hole #4
  • Mary Watkins  –   Hole #17

Finally, there were four BIRDIES:

Don’t forget to sign up for the March and April play days that Cathy was reminding us about today.  I believe Sandy Smith is hosting Sweet and Sour next Thursday.
