Play Day Results – March 13, 2025

Hello Ladies.
Thank you to the 12 ladies who came out to play in the very cold, breezy, and a little wet weather today.  It really never warmed up.  There will be no sweeps charged to anyone who cancelled late today since the weather was so inclement.
The game was Mutt & Jeff where you take your Net Total for the 4 Longest Holes (Hole #1, 6, 9, & 14) and the 5 Shortest Holes (Hole #5, 8, 11, 16, & 17).  It was an individual game.  The second game was $5 paid for each Greenie on the Par 3’s — compliments of Cathy Houston/Tournament Committee.  We had two flights with six players in each flight.  It was a tough day, so big congratulations to our winners.
Each flight paid $14 to the winner and $7 to second place.

First Flight (Handicaps 0 – 30):

  • 1st Place:  Stacey Moro   –  Total Net Holes of 32
  • 2nd Place: Cindy Aafedt –  Total Net Holes of 35

Second Flight (Handicaps 31 – 36):

  • 1st Place:  Deborah Veatch – Total Net Holes of 30 and Overall Winner
  • 2nd Place: Joanne Leete     – Total Net Holes of 31

Note that Deborah Veatch has been on “injured reserve” for the past two months, and today was her first play day with us since foot surgery.  How does that happen?

Closest to the Pin (CTP)  –  ($7.25 to each winner):Stacey Moro had a great round!  Two ladies received all of the $22 purse. There were no “closies” for the High Handicappers today. ☹️

  • Hole #5:    Terry Billingham – 18’8”
  • Hole #8:   ** No one **
  • Hole #11:  Stacey Moro – 3’10”
  • Hole #16:  Stacey Moro – 35’10″

There were no Chip-In’s today, so $11 will be carried over to our next play day on Thursday, March 27.

Only two Birdies today:  Stacey Moro and Cindy Aafedt – both on Hole #11.

Greenies – $5 for hitting the Green on each Par 3:

  • Cindy Aafedt   –  Hole #11
  • Terry Billingham –  Hole #5
  • Fran Grace –  Hole #16
  • Cathy Houston –  Hole #11
  • Bonnie Ladd –  Hole #5   (Bonnie also had a CTP but she forgot to write it down on the Supplemental Scorecard 🙃)
  • Stacey Moro –  Hole #11 and Hole #16
  • Sandy Smith –  Hole #16

Our next play day will be on Thursday, March 27, and the game is a Step-Aside Scramble — sign up and make your own foursome.  On Thursday, March 20, we are sponsoring an NCGA Open Day so there is no Tee Bird golf.
Again, we appreciate those hearty souls who played today!
