Play day results for 9/15/2020

Hope everyone enjoyed a “F”un day of golf :) The results are as follows:

Flight 1
1st place Lin Lenson, who shot an impressive 79, had a game score of 50 – $8
2nd and 3rd place, tie, with a game score of 52, Rochelle Baxley and Jill Chase – $5.50 each

Flight 2
1st and 2nd place tie a great game score of 46 – Julie Hanson and Sondi Schnee – $7 each.
3rd place with a game score of 51 – Joanne Smith – $5

Birdies:
Lin Lenson on hole 1 and 15
Julie Hanson on holes 2 and 7
Stacy Moro on hole 14

Surprisingly we had no chip-ins today.

Our next play date will be October 13.

DIVOT HOLES

Don’t you just hate it when you’ve had an amazing drive only to discover that your ball has come to rest in a divot hole!!! What rotten luck, and so unfair.

But surely the Rules of golf allow you to move your ball out of that divot without penalty, right?

Wrong. No, you cannot move a golf ball out of a divot hole even when that divot is in the fairway – at least, not without penalty. However, you do have an option. Declare the ball unplayable, assess yourself a one-stroke penalty, and drop a ball.

Play from where you hit your last shot.

Go back as far as you like in line with the pin.

Measure two club lengths from where your ball lies in the divot hole and drop a ball no closer to the pin.

Or………. suck it up, and play from the divot hole, no penalty
